The site reuses a 350 ha decommissioned military airfield, providing a greenfield canvas where runways, aprons and terminals can be laid out without legacy constraints and expanded in phases as traffic grows
First privately owned airport in Romania
Alexeni will be the country’s inaugural privately operated airport, shifting away from the traditional state-run model and enabling more agile decision-making, customer-driven services and commercial partnerships
Long-term concession
Avant Airports secured a 49-year concession to build and run Alexeni, granting the developer stable rights to recoup investments and plan infrastructure upgrades over nearly five decades
