Bucharest Alexeni International Airport (Romania)
One of the key projects in which Avant Global Airports is involved is the Bucharest Alexeni International Airport project.
Valentin Vizant, Founder and Shareholder of Avant Global Airports, is also a shareholder in the Romanian airport project through his 29% participation in Avant Airports, the project developer. He is the creator of the airport concept and the sole owner of the Avant Airports brand and development vision.
The project is being developed on the site of a former military airfield covering more than 350 hectares and offers significant potential for phased expansion in line with future passenger and cargo traffic growth.
350 Hectares of Development Potential
The project utilizes the existing site of a former military airfield, providing a unique opportunity to create modern airport infrastructure on a virtually greenfield platform.
The extensive land area allows for flexible phased development, including the construction of passenger terminals, cargo facilities, logistics parks, energy infrastructure, and supporting commercial developments.
A New Approach to Airport Development in Romania
Alexeni is regarded as one of the first major privately developed airport projects in Romania, demonstrating an alternative model for attracting private capital, innovation, and international expertise into the aviation sector.
Long-Term Concession
The project is being developed under a 49-year concession agreement, providing the long-term stability required for major infrastructure investments and sustainable development planning.
Passenger and Cargo Aviation Hub
The project includes the development of a modern passenger terminal of approximately 18,000 square meters and a dedicated cargo terminal of approximately 20,000 square meters.
The cargo component is designed to create a modern logistics platform capable of supporting the growing demands of e-commerce, international trade, and regional supply chains.
Strategic Location
The project is located approximately 66 kilometers east of Bucharest on the site of a former military airfield.
The characteristics of the site minimize the impact on residential communities while providing substantial opportunities for future expansion without the constraints commonly faced by many existing European airports.
